WXYZ-TV
is an ABC affiliate serving the Detroit area and its surrounding
communities. The station is owned and operated by Scripps
Howard Broadcasting.
Since
its sign-on in 1948, WXYZ-TV has established itself
as the top station in the Detroit area, as well as one
of the strongest stations in the United States and Canada.
Today,
locally produced programs on WXYZ-TV dominate the
airwaves, with four and one-half hours of live programming
daily. WXYZ-TV is clearly Detroit's news information
leader with "Action News This Morning" from 5 to 7am,
"Action News at Noon," "Action News 5pm," "Action
News 6pm," "Action News 7pm" and "Action News
11pm."
