A
local family's home was severely damaged in Monday's tornado.
Now neighbors are coming to the rescue to help the family
rebuild their lives.
Pat
and Ethel Hawley lost their home in Monday's tornado. The
Hawleys didn't have insurance and didn't know how they were
going to survive after the storm. But now people are coming
forward in droves to help them.
Phillip
Sanchez has stepped in to help the Hawley family rebuild their
home. Sanchez, a contractor from Howell, has offered to donate
his time to repair the Hawleys' house.
"I
found out the people did not have insurance. This is my business.
If there's anything I can do to help them, which I'm in that
position to help," Sanchez said.
Phillip
Sanchez' generosity is overwhelming to 73-year-old Pat Hawley.
"They
say men don't cry. That's a lie. Men can cry, and I have.
And I'm glad to have all these people helping. They're terrific,
these people are," Hawley said.
Some
local stores have donated clothing and furniture to the Hawley
family. A local radio station also raised $10,000 for the
family.
Phillip
Sanchez is hoping some other contractors will come forward
to donate their time as well. He's also looking for people
who can donate building supplies.
If
you can donate building supplies, please call Phillip's company,
Modernization Builders, at (517) 552-9699.
Cash
donations can be sent to:
